Capturing City Life with a SLR Camera |

A good friend has dedicated his life to the SLR camera. Working within the world of photography is his dream and at the moment while it may not be paying he is pursuing every opportunity handed his way. Recently he has been on a city life kick taking the SLR camera out to random construction sites, overpasses with heavy traffic underneath and in front of scenes marked with police sirens. When he opened up the computer folder of city life pictures he’d taken so far I was nothing but impressed. My favorite picture framed a metal worker hanging from a three story skeleton of a building going up. The guy had his welding shield down as a curtain of hot yellowish white sparks fell down dancing off the metal supports below. The clarity thanks to his SLR camera is what made the picture.
My second favorite was a black and white photo underneath dual overpasses that had moss and vines covering the entire bottom side. From the road below it almost looked like these could have been abandoned thoroughfares because the foliage was thick and wild.
